In 2008 C&J travelled to Lewa Downs, Kenya to photograph a camel safari guided by the legendary Charlie Wheeler and his team of Masai Warriors. On this journey the Warrior Series was born. 

 

In 2016 C&J returned to Laikipia to create portraits of Samburu Warriors in the Greater Segera area of Laikipia, Kenya and on the outskirts of the beautiful Borana Conservancy. Styled entirely by the warriors, the images create a window into modern Kenya - where plastic flowers, tinsel and striped neon socks are combined with traditional beading to adorn and distinguish a new generation of warriors.
