PHOTOGRAPHY & CREATIVE DIRECTION & COPYWRITING
Crookes&Jackson have been creating the visual language and collaborating with Segera Retreat, in the sun-bleached, game-rich, conservation friendly Kenyan highlands for a decade. Their distinctive photographs have been featured in the world's most luxurious media from Conde Nast Traveller UK and Conde Nast Traveler US, Travel+Leisure, The New York Times and Departures. The photographic assignments have including capturing the 4Cs ethos of the brand - with key pillars of Conservation, Culture, Community and Commerce leading to a series of powerful, multi-level images - images ranging from wildlife and portraiture to food shoots, interiors and cultural studies.
C&J wrote, designed and built the website for Segera Retreat, segera.com using the archive of images photographed by C&J of the incredible projects, cultural interactions and guest experiences available at Segera. The website is a multi-page gallery, rich in imagery, the Segera ethos and photographic wildlife encounters in the wild. It draws incredible online statistics for the industry - with lingering times of up to 8 minutes and stats that are 93% above its competitors and over 1500 site sessions per month plus an excellent retention of returning visitors that is reflected in the incredible repeat guests at this beautiful lodge.
The Segera Newspaper was printed tabloid style to give guests a tactile journey into the Segera ethos. Conceptualised to act as an in-room guide, map and collectible, it was photographed, designed, written and produced by Crookes&Jackson.
